From September 23rd until October 23rd, according to astrology, the sun passes through Libra. The sign is often symbolized by scales, and balance is said to play a very big part in the personalities of those born under it. In fact, the “key phrase” for those born under this sign is “I balance.” Common traits of Libras include an affinity for other people, a desire for harmony, and a dedication to finding a fitting romantic partner.

Whether you’re a Libra yourself or you’re curious to learn more, there are plenty of interesting tidbits to discover. Explore some of these fun facts about Libras, and discover a bit more about the importance of striking a balance whenever possible in life.

Beauty Is All Around

Beauty matters to the Libra. This sign is said to be ruled by the planet Venus, which gets its name from the Ancient Roman goddess of the same name who was said to represent the beauty of the world and all its people. Because of the connection between Venus and those born under this sign, many people believe that Libras seek out the beautiful in life. This is especially true of romantic partners. A Libra might be discerning of a potential partner’s appearance and may break things off with a partner who does not meet the Libra’s personal standards.

Of course, this does not necessarily make the Libra shallow. While some focus on outer beauty, there are many who seek the beauty within potential partners. Intelligence, specifically, is said to be a desirable trait for those who were born under this sign. Cerebral connections in lovers and friends are incredibly important to the Libra. If an attractive person with a clever mind enters his or her life, the Libra is likely to work hard to make this individual stick around.

The Big Picture

Libras are also said to spend a lot of time focusing on the “bigger picture.” If you were to ask a Libra if he or she believed in destiny, the individual might have a convoluted response. This is because the typical Libra is said to believe he or she is totally responsible for guiding life in the direction that it goes. While this can be invigorating in some ways, it can also be detrimental to the person who feels like his or her life is not going according to plan.

This feeling of having control can often create the impression of confidence in a Libra. Still, this might be something of an illusion. Should the person begin to feel like things are “off” with the direction life is heading, a period of self-doubt and inner conflict may take hold. This is often balanced out after the Libra has had enough time to find a pragmatic solution, “correct the course,” and feel like control has been restored.

A Balancing Act

Balance is one of the most important traits associated with this sign. Though they enjoy the company of other people, most Libras also need to spend a bit of time alone to make sure that they are listening to their own thoughts and opinions. The average Libra recognizes the standards of society yet balances those out by recognizing his or her own personal standards. They recognize that life is a balancing act and strive to maintain a life that never tips too far in either direction.

Appreciating a balanced life is something everyone can strive toward, not just Libras. Still, those born under this sign are often the ones to think about the bigger picture. In seeking balance and appreciating beauty, Libras bring a touch of joy and a lot of thought to those they encounter.
