A spring cleaning to start off the season might be exactly what you need.

Spring is a season associated with renewal. After the harsh winds of the winter have held control of the land for months, people are ready to get back outdoors and enjoy some warmer weather. The arrival of springtime is a perfect opportunity to clear out the old and welcome the new. While some take part in spring cleaning rituals to keep their homes looking spotless, it can also be beneficial to take stock of your life and cleanse yourself of whatever you feel is holding you back on a spiritual level.

A clean slate to start off the season might be exactly what you need to feel like you are being reborn with the spring equinox. People have been celebrating spring as a time of rejuvenation for thousands of years, meaning there are a ton of different practices you can explore for your own use this season.

Seeds of Tomorrow

Spiritual practices often begin with actions in the real world. If you are looking to feel a renewed sense of excitement about life, then you might want to begin by helping life in its earliest incarnations. The spring creates the perfect temperature for many plants to burst into colorful blooms and fill the world with verdant greens and lively ecosystems. What better way to celebrate the spring and refresh your spirit than by planting seeds? There are a ton of exciting options available to you when you decide to go this route.

Starting a garden right in your own backyard can be a perfect way to start the season. Not only can you create a space to plant your seeds in the moment, but you also can use the garden to welcome spring with each coming year and create a lasting tradition. You also might want to go bigger with your venture and start a campaign to plant small trees around your community. Whether you go big or small with this plan, you definitely can help to shape the world around you in a more positive way when you engage with plants.

Commune

Spending time in nature can also be beneficial to your spirit without you having to do too much. Planting seeds might be rewarding, but you can also experience a sense of wonder and awe when you take yourself on a long hike through the woods. Go to your favorite local spot where you can walk into the wilderness and stand by yourself for a moment. Take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the world coming back to life with the coming of spring and see what you find within yourself during the experience.

In fact, you don’t have to go far to let this happen. Sometimes, simply stepping outside of your home and breathing the air of the world can help you feel like your spirit is being refreshed. If you live in a city or urban area where finding wilderness is challenging, get creative. Go to a local park with friends, or take a trip outside of your community to a region where you can have a bit more time in the wild.

Personal Growth

Finally, taking time to simply reflect on your past and plan for your future can be helpful in welcoming the season. Setting intentions for yourself is a wonderful way to hold yourself to your goals, and the spring can make for an ideal time to create a plan. Think about what you want from your life this spring. Light a candle and take a bit of time to ruminate on your goals, saying a prayer or similar words if you feel so inclined. This small gesture can go far when it comes to inspiring yourself to take action.

Welcoming the spring can take many forms. Whether you are wandering the woods or planting flowers, you are sure to find plenty of practical ways to refresh your spirit this season.
