how to perform a weddingIf you have friends or loved ones who are getting married, it is a great honor to be asked to perform the ceremony. To perform a wedding, there are just a few steps that you need to follow, and at the end of the day, you will find that it is easier than you might think! Make sure that you follow these steps closely to ensure that nothing goes wrong at the wedding ceremony.

Step 1: Get Ordained
Ordination gives you the authority to perform the ceremony, and fortunately, it has never been easier. To become ordained as a minister, look up one of the many free online ordination programs that are available. Go through a simple free clicking process, and print out your receipt. Most ask you to mail in a signed form, and after that you are done. It really is that simple!

Step 2: Get In Touch With the Authority that Offers Marriage Licenses
Marriage laws vary from state to state regarding how licenses are procured. Some laws even vary within county lines. Become familiar with the laws in your area; if necessary, contact your city hall and talk to people who are familiar with the statutes. To make sure that you can give your friends their marriage license, you may need to give the government signed proof of your ordination. Sometimes this is necessary, and sometimes all you need to do is to fill out a form. After this, you are legally prepared to perform a marriage ceremony!

Step 3: Perform the Wedding Ceremony
At this point, you are down to the wedding ceremony itself, which is something that you will discuss with the couple who are getting married. Remember that you are there to support them and to give them what they want. Make suggestions regarding the ceremony, but remember that in the end, it should about the marriage ceremony that they want. You may be asked to read a few prayers, to offer a lesson to the couple, or to perform religious tasks. The wedding ceremony is something that you should feel comfortable about. Rehearse what you have to say until it rolls out of your mouth naturally, speak slowly and be as clear as you can.

Finally, after the wedding is over, make sure that the marriage license is signed. For the most part, the signatures are yours, the couple that has gotten married, and that of two witnesses.

After that, you’re done! As you can see, this is quite a simple procedure, and it is a great way to show your love and support for a marrying couple!
