Nuptials can be a complicated process, but officiants at ULC are on hand to both perform a wedding and help with planning. Many of us here at Universal Life Church look forward to the beginning of each year, as January is one of the best months for a wedding ceremony. Approximately one in three couples elects to tie the knot in winter weather, perhaps because nothing looks quite as romantic as a bride and groom arm-in-arm in a snowy wonderland. Here are some of the top reasons why you should consider becoming a January bride.

New beginnings: January marks the beginning of a new year, and for many, new beginnings. It’s the perfect time to begin a new life with the one you love. Perhaps best of all, January isn’t part of the busy wedding season, meaning that popular vendors will offer higher levels of availability. You’ll be able to book the perfect venue on the perfect date for your wedding.

Gorgeous winter weather: January brides love the fact that they’ll be able to pose in a winter wonderland for their wedding photos. Cold winds also create a feeling of greater warmth, too, when the wedding party sits down to a warm spread of food and drink. A seasonal menu is one of the best reasons to spring for January nuptials; this is the perfect time for warm soups, heavy Italian meals and traditional winter spreads. Couples will be able to offer guests a hot chocolate bar, warm cider and even eggnog, which just wouldn’t be appropriate in warmer months.

Winter’s brand of romance: January bouquets tend to feature romantic visions of freesias and bells of Ireland. Brides who prefer a burst of pink can decorate their venue with stargazer lilies. Black and white weddings tend to be popular at this time of year, offering guests an upscale feel and a chance to break out their fanciest threads. Hints of silver abound in January event themes as well, creating a sense romance that is unique to the winter wedding.

Convenience: By planning a wedding so close to Christmas and New Year’s Eve, you may find that more family members are still in town when it comes time to celebrate your marriage. They won’t be forced make travel arrangements again until after your wedding, and they’ll leave feeling like they’ve experienced one of the best-ever holiday seasons.

The wedding officiants at Universal Life Church have a rich understanding of modern weddings, and, unlike most officiants, can help couples plan their event down to the final rose. Contact ULC to perform a wedding, or for more information on planning your January wedding ceremony.
